United Synergies Caboolture Integration Officer Kayla Fernance explained the positive growth of the young people who have accessed the program.

‘In the first week, the young people who attend are generally pretty quiet and unsure of what they want to do with their life. By the end of the course their confidence has grown significantly, and they feel positive having some direction and clear goals,”

“School is not for everyone and this provides a really good alternative to help keep young people engaged and connect into the next chapter of their life’ said Kayla.

Recent Get Set for Work participant Zion provided the following feedback about his experience in the program.

“I really wanted to get the skills and knowledge about how to get a job. I really appreciated the one-on-one support offered by the facilitators. This helped me to really understand what I wanted to do and get out of the program”

“Get Set for Work provides you all the essential skills and knowledge and the trainers give you great support and help you as best they can” said Zion.

Since leaving the Get Set for Work program Zion has successfully completed a Certificate III in Retail and has obtained employment.
