AFL fans in Gippsland will have the chance to rub shoulders with a host of their favourite Collingwood AFL stars through the AFL Community Camps held at Morwell Football Ground – Travers Street, Morwell on 5th/6th February.

Now in its fifteenth year, the much-loved Camps will see more than 750 AFL players from all 18 Clubs take the game to regional and rural communities across Australia, with eight Clubs scheduled to visit local regions across Victoria including Gippsland.

The AFL stars will carry out training sessions to bring together individuals and communities, irrespective of backgrounds and beliefs while promoting healthy lifestyles.

Reclink Australia will be attending the camp on Tuesday 6th February for locals to attend to find out more about our football teams and opportunities to become involved in the new league. Locals are encouraged to register interest for a Latrobe Valley Reclink Football Team on the day. We are looking for Volunteers, Agencies, and Local Community Groups to support the new Reclink football teams for Morwell, Moe, Traralgon and Churchill.

The Reclink Australia Football League facilitates partnerships between multiple community service providers to unlock the potential for each organisation to collaborate and combine efforts. Football is used to create pathways for those most disadvantaged to re-engage into their local communities.

Reclink Australia received funding rom the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation to create two new Reclink Victorian Football Leagues in regional Victoria. These new leagues, operating in Central Victoria and Gippsland, will support 10 communities, breaking the cycle of disadvantage and pathways to high-risk behaviours, such as gambling.

Reclink Australia is a not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to enhance the lives of people experiencing disadvantage or facing significant barriers to participation, through providing new and unique sports and arts opportunities and specialist recreation programs.
