Brisbane’s most anticipated award’s night, The Lord Mayor’s Business Awards, is returning for its twelfth year on October 27th.

The award celebrates those within the community who have excelled in their respective fields and whose achievements and contributions have been integral to the continued growth of the city’s economy.

Heath Goddard, the charismatic co-owner of Brisbane-based homewares success story, Pillow Talk, has been named as a finalist in the Channel 7 Business Person of the Year category.

Heath’s incredible work ethic, generous contributions to charity and dedication to the community of Brisbane were the defining characteristics the judges admired.

Since co-founding the first Pillow Talk store together on Brisbane’s Ann Street in 1977, Heath Goddard and Roy King cultivated the growth of the company into the national business it is today. With 58 stores along the Eastern Seaboard of Australia and a thriving digital presence, Pillow Talk is a super-retailer that is showing no signs of slowing down.
Of this year’s finalists, Lord Mayor Graeme Quirk says they are the strongest line up in the award’s 12-year history.
“I never cease to be impressed by the incredible depth of talent and enterprising optimism that thrives in Brisbane,” Cr Quirk said.
“The awards celebrate excellence, success and those who think outside the square – trademarks of the Brisbane business community which makes such an invaluable contribution to our $153 billion economy.”
The winner of the Business Person of the Year category of the Lord Mayor’s Business Awards will be announced at a black-tie event at City Hall on October 27th.
