M.J.Bale launches Exclusively at Myer

Myer is thrilled to announce it has secured a department store exclusive with the launch of Australian menswear tailor and clothier M.J.Bale. Founded in 2009 by Matt Jensen, M.J.Bale is recognised for its soft, deconstructed tailoring and elegant layered separates across a range of suits, shirts, blazers and casual ready to wear.

M.J.Bale works with a global bureau of small-town artisans to weave and construct a masculine look using the world’s finest raw materials with a focus on comfort, fit, authenticity and  provenance.

Launching exclusively at Myer in September 2014, M.J.Bale will be available in seven stores nationwide including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

Myer Group General Manager of Menswear, Karen Brewster, is excited about attracting one of Australia’s fastest growing menswear brands to Myer.  “We are thrilled to welcome the enormously popular M.J.Bale brand to Myer in September 2014 as a department store exclusive.  M.J.Bale delivers supremely tailored garments of integrity that our customer base will no doubt love. It is such an important brand that will be a fantastic addition to our already strong menswear offering,” Ms Brewster said.

M.J.Bale Founder & CEO, Matt Jensen, is excited to be joining the Myer Designer family and looks forward to a strong and successful relationship.  “We are excited to be a part of the re-invigorated menswear offering. The Myer concession model offers us the opportunity to bring the M.J. Bale customer experience and product offering to the Myer customer.  We see a really great opportunity working with Myer and setting up our concession stores in key locations throughout the country,” Mr Bale said.

Matt Jensen, the son of a woolgrower and grazier, grew up on the land in rural New South Wales, igniting a lifelong appreciation for Australian Merino wool. While working in the finance industry in London during the 1990s Jensen found his passion for menswear, designing and manufacturing his local rugby side’s kit in his part-time. Jensen has also previously consulted to hip New York menswear brand, Thom Browne.

In addition to M.J.Bale, Myer will also launch footwear from Aqulia and menswear collections from Herringbone, Calvin Klein, Article #1 and St Goliath this Spring Summer 14, plus Scotch and Soda in Winter 15.
